NEW YORK (AP) — The mild-mannered Franklin — the first Black character in the “Peanuts” comic strip — gets to shine in his own animated Apple TV+ special this month in a story about friendship. Franklin is a newcomer who bonds with Charlie Brown and is welcomed to the Peanuts universe in “Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin," which premieres on Friday. Franklin and Charlie Brown soon enter a soap box derby competition and their friendship is tested before a deep bond is forged. In the new special, Franklin is specifically asked to come sit with his new pals on their side during a pizza party celebration. So to have him years later spotlight Franklin in a TV special seems almost divine intervention.

In those days, Lin let her three guinea pigs roam her parents' grassy, fenced-in backyard just outside of San Francisco. Organizers of this year's Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade have nabbed the Oscar-, Emmy- and Grammy Award-winner for their 97th annual event. Cher will make her appearance just before the parade's end, signaled by the arrival of Santa’s sleigh, parade organizers said. This year’s parade will feature 16 giant character balloons, 26 floats, 32 novelty and heritage inflatables, 12 marching bands, 700 clowns and eight performance groups. Other marching bands this year will represent Alabama, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Washington, New York, Illinois, New Jersey and Texas.

CNN —The NASA Orion spacecraft, the core of the Artemis I mission, is making a farewell pass by the moon on its historic journey before heading home to Earth. The Orion spacecraft is now expected to take another lap around the moon. That will mark the end of the historic Artemis I mission, which kicked off when the Orion spacecraft launched atop NASA’s new Space Launch System, or SLS, rocket on November 16. If the Artemis I mission is successful, NASA will then look to choose a crew to fly on the Artemis II mission, which could take off as soon as 2024. FTX kicked off its bankruptcy hearing on Tuesday, and the initial statements give Sam Bankman-Fried and company little to cheer. James Bromley, counsel to FTX's new management, had choice words during the first day in the Delaware hearing. Ray and his new management team's estimate of FTX's cash holdings has nearly doubled, a Saturday filing showed. In the letter, seen by the Financial Times, Bankman-Fried said excessive borrowing by Alameda Research was responsible for FTX's collapse. Fitted with more than 5600 sensors, Zohar and Helga will measure the amount of radiation astronauts could be exposed to in future missions.
